On the way

Pisterinniemi-peninsula is located by boat or snowmobile about 60 km from Inari and about 45 km from Nellim. Via Lake Nitsijärvi, the distance is 16 km by water and by snowmobile it is approximately 13 km. In winter you can travel quickly by snowmobile or ski in via Lake Nitsijärvi and during summer by boat. Snowmobile trails run close to the cottage.

The journey from north to south is shortened the Kuuva channel. The roughly 200 meters long and at least four meters wide channel was dug manually with a spade & shovel in the early 1900´s by Matti Kuuva of Inari.
